Our mountain cabins

Our back-country huts/ mountain cabins are available for independent users in the South Chilcotin Mountains in southwest British Columbia. They are suitable as a base for multiday hiking trips, hut-to-hut hiking circuits as well as summer mountain bike trips and back-country skiing trips in the winter.

Our mountain cabins are rustic mountain log or board cabins with a sleeping loft, bunk bed system or bedrooms depending on the cabin. All cabins have a big room, including kitchen. The cabins can comfortably accommodate 4-8 people, depending on the cabin. Your cooking facilities are a propane stove and wood stove which also provides the heat for the cabins. All the cooking equipment and dishware are available at the cabins as well as a variety of canned and dry goods. You’ll collect water from the nearby mountain creeks and each cabin has an outhouse.

By staying at one of our fully-stocked satellite research huts, you only need to bring your personal and hiking equipment, sleeping bag and fresh food. Allowing you to explore the mountains sustainably under your own power and to enjoy a true nature connection.

Depending on where you are coming from, you can drive yourself directly to the trail head where you will start hiking to camp. If you are coming from further away, you can stay a night at our Ranch facilities (additional costs). You can drive yourself from there or book our trail head drop off.

Make your contribution to the conservation of the Chilcotin Ark

You will hike into our hut under your own power contributing to real-world conservation. Heli-hiking and helicopter shuttles not only ruin a true nature connection, they also produce loud noise, high emission of carbon dioxide and displace wildlife which has drastic impacts on wildlife population numbers. Mountain goats, of which BC holds more than 50% of the world’s population, suffer especially from helicopter disturbance as it results in their displacement or even death.
