At Wilderness Trails, you’ll live by our Six Principle Philosophy, including nature connection, nature conservation, self-sufficiency, personal development, empowerment, and conscious & aware. Today, we’re excited to share how conscious & aware will be part of your experience with us.

Wildlife Tracking in Canada's Wilderness

In the remote wilderness, being conscious and aware isn’t just a philosophy—it’s essential for survival. Being conscious of animal behaviour, understanding wildlife patterns and knowing how to track their movements helps you to avoid potential dangers in the wilderness. The ability to locate essential resources such as food and water, requires you to be conscious of your environment and prepares you for the unpredictable challenges nature presents.

Awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and needs ensures you can manage your energy and make necessary decisions in challenging environments. By developing these skills, you learn to read the land and foster a deeper connection to nature and yourself. Equipping you with the ability to thrive independently in the wild and develop skills you can continue to apply long after you return home.

The following opportunities provide you with unique ways to increase your consciousness and awareness, tailored to suit your level of experience and personal interests.

You will ride the mountain tops, record their location, age and sex, and contribute towards conserving their populations.

These animals are difficult to spot in the wild, making it essential to be conscious and aware when tracking them. You need to stay fully present, using all of your senses, listening to your horse and scanning the terrain for subtle movements or shapes that blend into the rocky slopes and grassy meadows.
