Are you looking for a self-guided mountain biking circuit that allows you to disconnect from the urban trails and reconnect to nature?
This hut-to-hut self-guided mountain biking tour leads you through the South Chilcotin Mountains Park. Explore the Chilcotin Ark area under your own power while staying in our rustic, fully stocked satellite research huts.
You will travel almost 100km over 5 to 7 days, covering 10-25 km per day. Your journey takes you through alpine meadows and valley forests up to the golden mountain peaks as you explore the Relay, Big Creek, Upper Tyaughton, Spruce Lake and Eldorado areas.
While you enjoy nature, you will also have the opportunity to look after it. We provide you with our current research tools such as our wildlife sighting forms. This way you can participate and contribute to something bigger than yourself with a sustainable mountain biking experience!
Helicopter or airplane shuttles and heli-biking not only ruin a true nature connection, they also produce loud noise, high emission of carbon dioxide and displace wildlife which has drastic impacts on wildlife population numbers. Mountain goats, of which BC holds more than 50% of the world’s population, suffer especially from helicopter disturbance as it results in their displacement or even death.
